Dr. McDougall is a licensed mental health counselor and is nationally board certified.  He is the exclusive provider for mental health services for eight law enforcement agencies in north central Florida.  Those services include pre-employment evaluations, critical incident debriefings, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.  As part of his 20 years in private practice, he has worked with hundreds of individual first responders and/or their family members in a clinical setting.

He has been on-scene as critical incidents unfold, providing debriefings and consultation.  He has worked with officers both individually and in group settings to assist them in their efforts to return to duty in a timely and healthy manner.
Dr. McDougall is an instructor at law enforcement academies and also provides consultation to law enforcement and first responder agencies throughout the country.  He travels nationally to provide training on topics that include officer morale, PTSD, cumulative stress, officer retention and “burnout”, command staff and leadership strategies, and marriage and family issues in law enforcement.
